To maintain and control water quality in an automated watering system it is important to frequently flush the distribution piping. This renews the water, bringing in more residual disinfectant to destroy any free floating bacteria. This is very important for animal racks. Because animals drink such small amounts of water, the water in the manifolds can sit for weeks virtually unchanged. That's why flushing is so important. Remember, bacteria will start regrowing within 24 hours of sanitizing.
One solution for controlling and monitoring watering system flushing along with flush validation, leak detection, and built-in diagnostics.
During flushing, the solenoid valve opens and water escapes through the flush lines. Highly durable hoses can withstand chlorine, acid, and autoclave cycles. The material we use is polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and it is used in pure water systems because there isn't any leaching of the material into the water.
